SOWY Casper Winter Season:

Event Timing: December – February
Winter Area Games: February 9, 2025, at Hogadon
Winter State Games: February 25–27, 2025, in Jackson, WY
Sports Offered: Snowshoe, Alpine Ski, and Snowboard

Important Information for Alpine Ski and Snowboard:Due to a shortage of coaches, space in the program is very limited. Please register if you’re interested, but note that we may not be able to accommodate every athlete.

New Requirements:Athletes requiring 1:1 support must provide their own 1:1 assistant who can ski or snowboard alongside them during practices and competitions.Beginner skiers will not be on the competition team but can participate in a “Learn to Ski” program for Special Olympics Athletes with the Hogadon Snowsports School. Beginners, please still register, and we’ll assist you in getting set up with the Snowsports School.Once we receive your registration, we’ll follow up with confirmation and additional instructions.

Coach Benefits:

Complimentary lift tickets or a season pass (for those committing to coaching 6–8 weeks of practice, plus Area and State Games).Lift tickets, lodging and meals provided for the State Games in Jackson.


Practice Details:
Snowshoe: Saturdays at 1 PM. Location will alternate between Sunrise Shopping Center (indoor) and Skunk Hollow on Casper Mountain. This Saturday’s practice will be at Sunrise Shopping Center.
Alpine Ski & Snowboard: Sundays at 12:30 PM. Start date TBD (snow dependent). Stay tuned for updates!If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
